Living by the Power of the Holy Spirit

In John 16:13(NLT), Jesus Christ said, “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future.” God desires to have a close and intimate relationship with us. Sometimes, we think of Him as being very far away, but this isn’t the case at all. God wanted to be so close to us that He gave us the gift of His Spirit. This is the Holy Spirit, and he lives inside us.

The indwelling Holy Spirit helps us to live a successful life as a believer and follower of the Lord Jesus Christ. Throughout the years, we have grown very dependent on others in leadership positions, so much so that many of us have stop leaning on God and instead lean on the person. This is not what God wants. He wants us to learn about Him and lean on Him for everything. No one should come between us and Him. Trusting in the Lord with our whole hearts is how our relationship with Him deepens and grows.

Jesus Christ instructed us in Matthew 6:31-33(NLT), “31 So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ 32 These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. 33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.” We must seek God first, and through His Holy Spirit, He will guide and teach us so that our lives are pleasing to Him and fulfilling to us as well. It must be our greatest ambition to learn to walk and live with Holy Spirit power.

The work of the Holy Spirit is to enlighten minds and renew hearts according to the truth of Jesus Christ. There are many believers that have not experienced the presence of the Holy Spirit. He is not a mere influence or power, he is a person. He is our comforter and friend. God’s desire is that we become intimately acquainted with His Holy Spirit, and that we submit ourselves to his perfect leadership, guidance, and power. Learning to live with Holy Spirit power is the most exciting journey in life.

Growing in the Spirit

  • When God Says It’s Finished, It Is Finished!
God’s Word is absolute! It’s the final authority. In the scriptures, He means what He says, says what He means, and everything that He says goes. God never deviates from His Word. The psalmist said in Psalm 138:2(NKJV), “I will worship toward Your holy temple, and praise Your name for Your lovingkindness and Your truth; for You have magnified Your word above all Your name.” The reality that our Heavenly Father sets His Word above His name demonstrates for us the infallible nature of His Holy Word, and His unwavering allegiance to it. Forever etched in the chronicles of human…
  • What Happens When You Lose Your Voice?
A voice in the physical sense is the sound produced from a person’s larynx and outwardly delivered through the mouth. It’s the resonance of our vocal cords, and our voices—the sound of our speech—is often used to identify us. Others can know us by the sound of our voices, and this isn’t by chance of course. It’s one of the attributes of our human frame that demonstrates the extraordinary brilliance of God’s thoughts and creative power. Genesis 1:3(NLT) tells us, “Then God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.” Our Heavenly Father used His voice as an instrument…
  • The Holy Spirit Is Your Friend, Comforter, Teacher and Guide
The psalmist, King David, prayed in Psalm 51:11-12(NLT), “11 Do not banish me from your presence, and don’t take your Holy Spirit from me. 12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and make me willing to obey you.”  The Holy Spirit is God’s Spirit, and during the time in which David lived, the Holy Spirit could only be on a person, but he did not dwell inside a person. This is an important distinction that is very meaningful to those living after the ascension of Christ. The first man, Adam, and his wife, Eve, walked and talked with…
